Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp

Shri Guru Nanak Dev Centre of Innovative Leadership & Entrepreneurship was organized three days camp for 80 students of technical background. 12 EXPERTS from Industry, Govt agencies, ministry of skills, academia are participating for delivering expert talk and guiding students

A three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Centre of Innovative Leadership & Entrepreneurship, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) during 14th to 16th Oct 2019. The event was sponsored by DST under the guidance of Shri Raj Nehru, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor. About 98 students from various disciplines participated in this program; Prof. Jyoti Rana, Incharge, Shri Guru Nank Dev Centre of Innovative Leadership & Entrepreneurship was the convener of the Camp. Dr Vikram Bansal, Dr Dalip Raina, Dr Yogita Batra and Dr Anshu Bhardwaj contributed wholeheartedly towards successful conduct of the camp.

The inaugural day (14th Oct) started with the address by Ms. Archana Goradia Gupta, Chairperson, MSME, FICCCI followed by Ms. Raveena who is consulting for Human Capital with Deloitte and is founder of TP&C. Ms. Arunima, President EDC, IIT Delhi also shared her views on the subject matter. Shri Raj Nehru, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SVSU was the chief guest at the event, who along with Prof. R.S. Rathore, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Jyoti Rana, Dean Management, Prof. Ashok Shrivastava, Dean Engineering motivated students to become future entrepreneurs.
The next session was conducted by Mr. Suryakant, Nodal Head Entrepreneurship (State Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India). He took up a very important subject of Government schemes of assistance and policy for setting up small business ventures. Dr. Koyal Chakrawarti who is a freelance corporate communication and soft skills trainer spoke about ‘Developing soft skills’. Professor Rishipal, Dean Humanities and Allied Sciences, addressed the students on ‘Personality characteristics or traits of an Entrepreneur’.
On 15th Oct, Prof. Jyoti Rana narrated ‘Stories of successful Entrepreneurs’ to the students. It was followed by Prof. Ashok Srivastava’s session who informed the students about ‘Emerging business opportunities: Environment scanning and identification’. Thereafter, Dr. Sanjay Bharadwaj Industry Integration, SVSU apprised students about ‘Support and financial assistance from Govt. agencies like banks, financial institutions etc. Students were also taken on an industrial visit in the last session.
The final day of the camp started with a session on ‘Historical Background of Entrepreneurship’ by Ms. Saloni Kaul, CEO, Udaan, followed by experience sharing by Ms. Avipsha Thakur, CEO, Bunavat. Ms. Kalpana Sinha from Wadhwani foundation talked about entrepreneurship as a career choice in the final technical session of the concluding day. Finally, the event came to its culmination with an address by the chief guest Shri Raj Nehru, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, who felicitated young entrepreneurs and students.
