India is the world’s fastest growing economy. To maintain the pace of growth and transform India into lead engine of the world economy, availability of high quality of skilled human resources is a key prerequisite.

The National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship – 2015 provides an enabling framework to realise this vision. The National Policy targets to skill and reskill about 400 million people by 2022.

To nurture the skill set of youth by mapping it with the demands of industry and aspirations of youth, the Government of Haryana has established Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), which is the first Government Skill University in the country.

SVSU, which is coming up in the village Dudhola of Palwal District, is currently functioning from its transit campus at Gurugram. The University has come up with an innovative work integrated dual-education model. Under this model, students are given on-the-job training in the area of their study through various industrial associates. The University has developed a
very strong bond with industries. Appointment of Shri Raj Nehru, an eminent professional from the corporate world as the founder Vice Chancellor of the University, has further augmented academic excellence through Industrial expertise.

The University is offering variety of Courses at different skill levels. In one of its kind of certificate programme, youth are being trained in Haryanvi Folk art of Banchari. In addition, University is offering industry integrated Diploma, Advance Diploma, Graduation, Post Graduate Diploma and Post-Graduation Degree level programmes in areas like Robotics, Mechatronics, Heath Care, Banking etc.

All programmes of University are as per the learning outcomes enumerated under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) for shifting ‘Qualification-Based’ learning to ’Skill-Based’, learning.

With the Fourth Industrial Revolution round the corner, the University is working to preparing youth to develop their potential to make India, the skill capital of the world. The University is committed with its vision to become an internationally recognized skilling Institution to enhances student employability and earning ability.
