Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), established in Palwal, Haryana, is India’s first Government Skill University, dedicated to providing high-quality skill education. Founded by the Government of Haryana, SVSU is a pioneering institution focused on bridging the gap between industry requirements and academia by delivering industry-aligned, hands-on skill programs.
SVSU’s mission is to empower youth with advanced skills, knowledge, and employability through a unique model of skill education that combines theoretical learning with practical exposure. Our industry partnerships and collaborations with leading organizations offer students experiential learning through internships, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training, which equip them with the competencies required in today’s job market.
I take pride as the Founding Vice-Chancellor in introducing you to Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) – India’s very first Skill University. While India has some of the very best academic institutions in the world, the skilling has remained an unchartered territory for the last few decades. Our ancient civilisation had thrived on the skills of our ancestors, which bestowed global recognition on India. The universities of the bygone era like Takshila and Nalanda were the centres of vocational and skill education. The Government of Haryana, understanding the emphasis of the Government of India towards skill and entrepreneurship development launched India’s first Skill University in 2016.
